Both of them came into their Thursday night matchup shouldering big expectations.
Chaminade-Madonna quarterback Sean White and University School quarterback Mike White have put together some impressive performances for their respective teams this season.
And both looked good again Thursday, but unfortunately for Chaminade, there were a few too many mistakes for the Lions to overcome.
Lions quarterback Sean White was 22 of 40 for 266 yards and two touchdowns. But he had three interceptions too.
University QB Mike White, meanwhile, didn't turn the ball over and was 17 of 39 for 290 yards with four touchdowns. The ultimate result? University School 47, Chaminade-Madonna 20.
"Mike is poised. He's a mature leader," said University School coach Roger Harriott. "He steadied the course for us."
While Thursday night's matchup gives University School (5-0, 2-0) the edge in the District 8-3A standings, it's likely these two will see each other again the playoffs. And like they did Thursday, they'll likely put up big numbers again.
Which means mistakes will make all the difference.
