The NFL has filed a hefty $16.6 million lawsuit against rapper M.I.A. for flipping off viewers and mouthing the words “I don’t give a s**t” during her guest appearance with Madonna during the Super Bowl XLVI (46) halftime show. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the league is seeking “restitution” for advertising money allegedly lost as a result of her one-finger salute. Last September, the NFL announced it was seeking $1.5 million for breach of contract, and the additional $15 million is reportedly the value, in advertising dollars, of her two minutes of screen time. In response, M.I.A. has given the NFL a big fat F.U, labeling the league as bullies looking to “make an example” of her for “daring to challenge the NFL.”
