Logo final_highLANCASTER, Pennsylvania – A majority of the people of Pennsylvania have voted for a Democratic president in every election cycle since 1988. Yet the state is still considered a battleground – particularly because Republicans win a vast majority of most other elections here.

But over the years, migration patterns and the “Brain Drain” phenomenon have turned Pennsylvania presidential politics on their head. Dr. G. Terry Madonna, director of the nationally-renowned Franklin & Marshall College Poll, explains what happened.
