Donald Robertson is a familiar name for most fashion girls, but many recognize him best by his Instagram handle, @drawbertson. Originally a creative director for brands such as Marie Claire, Glamour, and various Estée Lauder companies, Robertson is now an Instagram sensation in his own right.
With a following of 152,000, and mentions from huge stars including Beyoncé and Pharrell, he’s been able to capitalize on his growing fanbase, leverage his fashion illustration talent and release a wildly successful series of collaborations with fashion and beauty brands, including Brian Atwood, J.Crew, and Smashbox. You’ll almost definitely recognize his most iconic work: a brush-stroke red lip print that’s appeared on everything from paintings to T-shirts and even water bottles.
Over the weekend, Robertson launched a new pop-up with Story, the ever-evolving Manhattan-based concept store. Open until September 20th, the store features the creative’s signature gaffer-tape models and lip prints covering all manner of merchandise.
