There’s been a healthy relationship between music and comedy this week if you count the fact that Bill Burr opened for Queen of the Stone Age‘s surprise performance in Los Angeles at the Teragram Ballroom. Amy Schumer took on a similar responsibility for Madonna at Madison Square Gardens last night.
The usually tongue-in-cheek actress didn’t stray far from her roots, when she joked to the audience, “Who better to open for Madonna than me? The answer: literally, any band” (via NME).

Schumer received a standing ovation for her opening set, but her night wasn’t over yet. Madonna invited her back onstage during the finale, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Madonna had Schumer come out to “Unapologetic Bitch” off her Rebel Heart album. Crowning Schumer the night’s “unapologetic bitch,” Madonna bent Schumer over, lifted her dress, flashed the comedian’s panties and spanked her. But it was all in good fun. Schumer will support Madonna on all NYC tour dates, which include tonight’s second performance at Madison Square Garden and Saturday’s performance at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
