The 53-year-old pop star shocked a packed house in Istanbul last Thursday by pulling one of her tits out during a performance. Perhaps even more shocking, the video of it, included here, is uncensored on Youtube, probably for a limited time only.
It's hard to say whether there was any sort of "appropriate" context involved with the action, as the audio sounds like someone managed to shove a microwave into a garbage disposal– but part of that ruckus is certainly the unmistakable roaring of crowd approval.
If Youtube comments and like/dislike figures are any indication, here's a fact sheet breakdown of the public's reaction:
–This particular version has nearly 1,600,000 views after only 3 days
–There are 1,385 likes and 1,197 dislikes
–The current most up-voted comment is "20 years ago, OK…now, ew. No."
–And second runner up: "I just puked a little."
It is kinda hard to ignore the fact that she is in her fifties, and though she looks great for fifties…ehh… that's how old our moms are.
Say you're outside a dive bar, and a 7 out of 10 cougar pulls a titty out in a 3-pitchers-of -Bud-too-many drunken stupor in the parking lot. Sure, you look. It's tits! But it's also sad and gross.
But I think worse than the physical semantics of an older gal's tit ,which you could dissect all day, it's the implications here.
We saw the video in the news recently of Madonna including Gaga's 'Born This Way' in a medley featuring her own 'Express Yourself' presumably in this current tour…I mean that's sort of fair in a way– there is quite an undeniable similarity. But now? More than a year after the song's release? It's old news at best.
Plus didn't Madonna already fan the flames of that one by saying she didn't really care all that much, and that she approves of Gaga in general?
This late in the game isn't it all painting the aging pop star to be, well, old? And possibly a little bitter.
Not only has Madonna already done plenty of nude things in various forms of media, but they were all during a time when she was a bit more young and mysterious. I'm just saying I think it's about time she tried on a new dress. And one that fits appropriately.
