Hey darlin'. So glad to have you here!
For my internship in Italy, I’m translating the histories of historical buildings and art in town for the website of Viterbo.
I learn tons of random words that I may or may not use in daily conversation, but I’d like to record them here to remember.
Busto: a type of sculpture
Fungere: to act as, serves as, to function as
Per esempio: Questo porta funge da ingresso or This door serves as the entrance.
Ornare: to decorate
Per esempio: La mia casa ha ornato come un giardino or My house is decorated like a garden.
Raffigurare: to represent, to portray
Per esempio: Il dipinto raffigura la Madonna e gli angeli or The painting represents the Madonna and the angels.
Coro: choir
Per esempio: Canto nel coro or I sing in the choir.
Progetto: a plan
Ad esempio: realizzare un progetto or to carry out a plan
Note: Excuse my grammar if it is incorrect. I’m still learning!
Ciao!
