Verizon's Go90 Video Streaming Gets More New Content - Android ...

Verizon’s free mobile video streaming service is being updated with brand new content. The video streaming service is called Go90 and the company plans to make it a service that will appeal primarily to teenage mobile users. This service is part of a marketing scheme to push its own customers to buy its more expensive mobile data plans as they use the service. In order to utilize this service, the user must first download the Go90 app and make an account. During the course the process, you will be asked to choose some video interests that you are interested in e.g. comedy or sports. After choosing your preferred content, you will be able to start viewing whatever videos you want. This service is open to everyone, even to those who do not subscribe to Verizon’s mobile services, though it is only available in the U.S. As of now, the company is sending email invitations to its customers and customers from other mobile carriers to test the beta version of the Go90. The official version of the service is expected to be released in October.

Verizon is currently adding new content to Go90 and the content is designed to stand out from others video streaming services such as Youtube. In the last few days, the company has announced that it is adding content from studios such as Dance On, a company which is co-founded by Madonna. Dance On is slated to produce about 80 hours of content for the streaming service. New Form Digital will be releasing short video content consisting of comedies and dramas. Endemol Beyond USA will be releasing three video series and two of them will be produced by Youtubers, Sonya Esman and Cassy Ho. Verizon has partnered up home entertainment companies like AMC, HBO, Fox, and DreamWorks to provide video content for its users. It has also engaged NFL, ESPN, and CBS Sports to provide content directed at users who are into the sports scene. It is not certain whether these sports channels will provide premium and exclusive content.

Verizon’s Go90 video streaming service is not the only streaming service in the market, the current video streaming giant is still Youtube. Verizon has to make sure that its customers will be interested in its service. If it fails to do so, Go90 may turn out to be another video streaming service that will become obsolete as time goes by.
